The art piece ‘4 x 4’, created by Jasm One in collaboration with young local talent Spicygraphie, makes its mark on the facades of the new Centre de Secours et Incendie Chablais-VS, at the crossroads of the communes of Collombey-Muraz and Monthey. This monochrome mural, emblematic of Jasm One’s style, stands out for its chromed lines, in subtle dialogue with the building’s raw architecture. At first sight discreet, the art piece reveals all its power under natural light, transforming into an explosion of bright reflections that seem to erase the walls. <\/p>\n
The central theme of this creation is the transmission of knowledge. On the north fa\u00e7ade, an adult firefighter guides a young firefighter, embodying the passing of knowledge between generations. This intergenerational dialogue is enriched by Jasm One’s invitation to Spicygraphie, whose contribution reinforces the element of transmission within the art piece. The four natural elements – water, fire, air and earth – are represented by dynamic lines that run through both sides of the building, reminding us that first-aiders operate in all conditions. <\/p>\n
The title ‘4 x 4’ refers both to these four elements and to the versatility of first-aiders working in a variety of emergency situations. It also underlines the unique duality of the project: two fa\u00e7ades, two artists and a collaboration between two communities. The filigree inclusion of the Alpine panorama, filled in by Spicygraphie’s strokes, further anchors this art piece in its territory. <\/p>\n
On this raw concrete, the art piece ‘4 x 4’ brings architecture and art together in a luminous dialogue, where the identity of the site and the courage of its protectors are revealed with finesse.<\/p>\n
