On the fa\u00e7ade of the Savi\u00e8se town hall, the art piece ‘Ang\u00e8le’ stands as a poignant tribute to memory and cultural heritage. Inspired by Ernest Bi\u00e9ler’s painting “Apr\u00e8s la messe”, this mural reinvents the character of Ang\u00e8le, isolating her from the original group to give her a new life in a contemporary context. Her gaze, turned towards the nearby cemetery, evokes a dialogue between tradition, spirituality and our relationship with nature. The drop of water engraved on the cover of the Bible she holds symbolizes not only the sustainability of natural elements, but also our responsibility towards them. <\/p>\n
Through this art piece, Jasm One questions our relationship with the past, while anchoring Ang\u00e8le in Savi\u00e8se’s present. By linking the church, the cemetery and the town hall, he weaves a symbolic triangulation that underlines the importance of these places in the life of the community. This mural not only celebrates our artistic heritage, it also invites us to reflect on contemporary values and the place we give to nature in relation to our traditional beliefs. <\/p>\n
By offering a modern take on this iconic character, Jasm One questions the very foundations of our society.
