The art piece

In the heart of the garden of the Laboratoire Cantonal in Sion, the Resival Station, responsible for monitoring air quality, has been sublimated by the artist Yakes. This once discreet installation is now revealed in a new light, with a captivating mural evoking the epic journey of water through the Valais landscapes, transforming a simple device into a living art piece.

On all four sides of the station, the Parisian artist has created a continuous frieze inviting viewers to follow the journey of water, from its source to its impact on the local ecosystem. The structure’s windows become frames where art and nature intertwine, establishing a poetic dialogue between the two.

This mural goes beyond aesthetic enhancement to symbolize the harmony between technology, art and nature. It underlines the beauty and vital importance of water, while raising awareness of the need to preserve this precious resource. As part of a wider project to revitalize the garden, Yakes’ art piece enriches the public space by combining ecological awareness, local heritage enhancement and artistic creativity.
