In the stairwell of the Cible parking lot in Sion, the work ‘Abyssal’ transforms a functional space into an immersive artistic experience. Eight young artists from the Valais have combined their talents to create a captivating visual journey, exploring the theme of water in all its forms.

At the top of the staircase, the fresco opens onto a majestic Alpine landscape, where a waterfall gushes out, marking the boundary between sky and water. This initial scene invites the viewer to plunge into a fascinating aquatic world. As we descend, each level reveals a new facet of this underwater universe, gradually moving from the luminous surface to the mysterious abyssal depths.

The artists have skilfully blended lettering and illustrations, creating a visual symphony where abstract forms and fantastical creatures coexist harmoniously. Vibrant colors and dynamic compositions guide the eye, evoking the perpetual movement of water and the teeming life it conceals.

This bold work transcends its decorative function to offer a poetic exploration of the deep, reminding us that beauty and wonder can emerge in the most unexpected places. “Abyssal” invites each visitor to a metaphorical plunge, where art becomes a vehicle for discovering the invisible worlds that surround us.
