Philippe Baudelocque
Paris / France
Philippe Baudelocque, born in 1974 in Yerres (France), is an artist who emerged from the graffiti scene in the 80s.
A 2002 graduate of the École nationale supérieure des Arts Décoratifs de Paris, he creates XXL murals in public spaces around the world. His graphic universe is inspired by the primitive arts and scientific imagery. Using chalk as his medium, he improvises his motifs freehand.
He combines technical sophistication with the crumbly nature of chalk to create animal, landscape, abstract or symbolic representations, often involving doubling and multiplying. He is also interested in quantum physics, mathematics, rhythms and the laws of nature.
His work has been exhibited in renowned museums such as the Centre Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo and MACRO in Rome, and he has collaborated with famous houses such as Diptyque, Hermès and Pierre Hermé.
