Art Valais’ OPEN AIR MUSEUM and students from Aproz join forces to create a fresco on the wall of a former industrial wasteland, rehabilitated as a playground (awarded the Swiss Heritage red nail in 2024).

On September 11, 12 and 13, 2024, the artists of Art Valais will be using their brushes in Aproz, a village on the banks of the Rhône, for their brand new work on the theme of water.

The project, supported by the commune of Nendaz and the town of Sion, is designed to be participatory. With sprays and brushes in hand, 150 schoolchildren from the village will have the chance to accompany the artists in their work. Children who wish to do so will be able to climb onto a gondola and paint in the air.

Called “Enjeu”, the project is based on the principle of discovery games and assembling shapes for children, inspired by the plant and animal world. The central circle underlines the importance of water as an indispensable element in the living world.

The work will join the OPEN AIR MUSEUM’s cantonal “Water” parcours.

An official inauguration will take place on Friday, September 20 at 6pm, followed by a village party.
