Nicolas Bamert

Lausanne / Switzerland

The artistic work of Nicolas Bamert – aka L’Original – is a reflection of himself: colorful, enthusiastic and abundant, but also thoughtful and structured. The result of a first life as an HVAC engineer, which he decided to end to explore his creative side in Berlin. A stay of almost two years during which he developed a genuine vision: “My aim is quite simply to bring joy to people”. An admirer of Keith Haring, Tinguely, Niki de Saint Phalle, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, L’Original shares his masters’ taste for immersive, accessible creations. Giant murals or ephemeral installations, for him “everything is a support, as long as it’s visible”: cellars, streets, disused or unused apartments, containers, abandoned airplanes, etc.

To discover Nicolas Bamert’s art pieces is to open a wide window onto the imaginary, to let the extravagant and the unusual shake up our reality, to give new meaning to what surrounds us, and to let the dream seize us. The L’Original signature delimits no territory, signs no allegiance, claims no pretension, but designates a poetic universe in which the artist invites us to immerse ourselves.

The mastery and rigor of his artistic work contrast with the carefree, happy lightness that emanates from his positive utopias. A protean artist, L’Original is a stickler for perfection and experimentation. Here’s a glimpse of his versatile skills, which you can discover in his ORIGINAL universe.
