Aquamarelle’ work

The art piece

‘Aquamarelle’, by Jasm One and installed in the Plantys elementary school in Vétroz, reflects the spirit of childhood through a playful and poetic fresco. Inspired by the pupils’ own drawings, it explores the theme of water as a source of life and dreams. Hopscotch, at the center of the composition, becomes a metaphor for learning, where each step is a leap into the unknown, a discovery, like a child jumping off the diving board.

The pool, filled with soft, watercolor hues, stretches out like a blotting paper imbued with emotions. While its edges recall the school setting, its presence offers a place of passage to the future, where throwing oneself into the water becomes a metaphor for courage and progress. Watercolor, a technique skilfully simulated here by the artist, underlines the idea that in life, as in learning, erasures or missteps are part of the process. In the image of this artistic process, every error, every clumsiness enriches the experience and contributes to the construction of the individual.

The pupils’ drawings, full of spontaneity and naivety, are integrated into the fresco, expressing the richness of children’s visions and emotions. This work not only celebrates school and childhood, it also carries a message: that dreams persist, even into adulthood. Aquamarelle’ invites us to plunge into the world of childhood, where every leap, every dream, builds the future.
