The art piece

Jasm One’s ‘C.C. Olsommer’ is a modern tribute to Veyras artist and poet Charles-Clos Olsommer. Inspired by his painting “L’Autoportrait du Solitaire Clos”, the fresco plays on anamorphosis, inviting the viewer to discover the entire composition from a precise point of view. This process highlights the importance of perception in art and nature.

Jasm One splits Olsommer’s portrait in two, symbolizing his talent for observation through the eye on the right, and his poetic expression through the mouth on the left. The central circle evokes the universal world, while the rhombus, Olsommer’s signature symbol, is used here as a point of gravity, linking the two artists.

Water, present in the original work as a mystical symbol, is here revisited to reflect current ecological issues. Bright green accents and acid colors amplify the urgency of our polluted waters. This contrast between Olsommer’s mysticism and Jasm One’s contemporary reality brings a new resonance, connecting past and present.
